FAQ
Here are our most frequently asked questions – but it you want to ask something else please get in touch directly.
-
COVID UpdateWe want everyone to be safe, so we have moved to online paperwork and virtual viewings. We have hand sanitiser stations inside all of our houses and have provided extra cleaning supplies to house mates during the recent pandemic. We provide regular updates on the latest guidelines and what that means to you as a housemate.
-
What is included in the rent?Your rent includes all the bills, including council tax, high speed broadband and a weekly clean of the communal areas. We also have a gardener and a window cleaner so the outside looks as good as the inside.
-
What furniture is in the room? Each individually styled room comes with a bed, mattress, mattress protectors, wardrobe, set of drawers, bedside table/shelf. Most rooms also have a desk and chair for those days when you are working from home.
-
Do you have Wi-Fi?Absolutely - we know it's essential for you; we recently upgraded for that reason. There are ethernet ports in every bedroom if you prefer to be hardwired.
-
Do you take couples? Can I share with a friend? We currently only have single occupancy rooms meaning you cannot share a room with another person.
-
Who lives in the house? Most of our housemates are young professionals between 21 and 35, who have moved to this area to start a job and are looking for like-minded people to live and socialise with. We have tenants from the public sector, key workers, manufacturing, retail and financial services.
-
Do you do short term lets? Our minimum tenancy agreement is 6 months but many housemates stay longer.
-
What if I leave early? We always need a month's notice. If you leave within the first 6 months you are responsible for the rent until a replacement tenant is sourced, referenced and takes over.
-
Do I need references?Yes please, usually a current landlord and employer, and we also run a credit check. We use an online tenant screening service - so simply fill in the form they send you.
-
How do I take a room?We like to get to know you a bit, to understand what you are looking for and to see which of our homes and rooms would suit you best - we want happy housemates all round. Then we will arrange a viewing, either virtual or physical. If it's all working out, we will ask for £100 (refundable) holding deposit to secure the room for you and we will stop advertising. This will be taken off your first month's rent or deposit.
